State Level Diagnostic Laboratory, Tirupati

Initially the State Level Diagnostic Laboratory was established under the project entitled “Establishment of State Level Diagnostic Laboratory” by RKVY during the year 2009 to 2010 for fast and accurate diagnosis of different animal diseases and to cater the needs of the farmers.
The laboratory has been established with the following facilities

  • P3 laboratory to deal with high risk organisms.
  • Preliminary investigation lab, Molecular diagnostic lab, Immuno-histochemistry lab, bacteriology and Virology labs for diagnosis of animal Diseases under supervision of Microbiology, Pathology and Parasitology Departments.

At present the laboratory is functioning under the non-plan budget from the financial year 2013-2014 and serving the farming community through the utilization of above laboratories and also screening of samples received from various departments of SVVU and AH department related to Animal Health, dairying and poultry.

 
 
 

Objectives

    • Establishment of State Level Animal disease Diagnostic laboratory to cater the needs of the farmers.
    • Molecular diagnostic facilities for early and accurate diagnosis of animal diseases.
    • Screening of samples received from various Sectors related to Animal Health, dairying and poultry.
    • programme for gopalamithras on semen handling and A.I; another one day training programme for Veterinary Assistant Surgeons on “Reproductive management in cattle and Buffaloes”were held by Department of Veterinary Gynaecology and Obstetrics, N T R College of Veterinary Science, Gannavaram.

 

    • Three day skill development programme was conducted on “Value addition of Fish & Shrimp” for women group at SMVKR Fisheries Polytechnic college. 30 beneficiaries were  selected for each batch and 3 such batches were trained for Value addition of Fish & Shrimp. Sri Mandali Buddha Prasad garu, Hon’ble Deputy.Speaker, A.P. Assembly inaugurated the training programme.
